Eagle Projects
Boy
Scouts who are looking for a great Eagle Project that will help save
lives in their community are invited to consider organizing a First Aid/CPR/AED workshop and certification course for their high school, church, or community organization.
The
Scout provides organization and logistics for the event, a sponsoring
organization, volunteers, location, as well as promotion to the
community. The Association for Health and Wellness will provide the
certified and trained instructors to conduct the course.
There
is an additional option for Scouts to consider. You can have one or
more adults from your sponsoring organization or scout unit trained as
an instructor, and then serve as the instructor for the course that you provide for your project. Instructors will provide the course you organize, and then continue to provide future courses every six months. This enables your Eagle project to have a lasting effect and local benefit to your community.
Courses
provided as an Eagle Scout Project can be offered to participants at NO COST if participants do not need a certification card. For example, youth may take the course just for the knowledge, or to meet various scout advancement requirements, as well as for Venuturer advancement requirements. It can also be provided at no cost if the Scout can obtain local sponsors to cover the minimal cost per participant.
So conducting this Eagle project helps members of your community receive the
training they need to help save lives, and it helps them to save money.
